Our promise
One fee, stated plainly
No listing fees, no surprises. When a piece sells, Veil Vault earns 12% of the item and Stripe's payment-processing fee is deducted from your payout — the exact amount on every sale. Spotlight placement, if a seller opts in, adds 5% only when it sells.
A 12% fee, on the item only.
When your piece sells, Veil Vault earns 12% of the item price — no listing fee, nothing on shipping, nothing buried in fine print. The one other amount that leaves the sale is Stripe's payment-processing fee, deducted from your payout and shown on every sale. Sellers who opt into Spotlight placement pay an extra 5% on top, and only when the piece actually sells.
No listing fee, ever.
Listing on Veil Vault is free — photograph your piece, tell its story, and set your price without paying a cent up front. You only pay when it sells: the 12% fee (or 17% with Spotlight) plus Stripe's payment-processing fee — both deducted from your payout and both shown on every sale.
Shipping priced separately, plainly.
Shipping is priced separately from the item, so you always see exactly what you're paying for it. Veil Vault provides the prepaid label and tracking; if the real postage ever costs more than the shipping paid, the difference comes out of the seller's payout — no one is surprised by the label price.
For buyers
How buying works
Find the piece, order it, and it travels from the seller's closet to yours.

Place your order
Find the piece, review its photos and measurements, and place your order from the listing page. The seller is notified right away.

The seller ships
The seller packs your piece with care and ships it to you. Ask questions in messages before you buy — and after, if anything's unclear.
- 03
You receive your piece
Your piece ships with a prepaid label and tracking so you can follow it home. When it arrives, check it against the listing — what you saw is what should arrive — and confirm receipt to release the seller's payout.

An honest note on payments
Your payment is held securely while your order travels to you. The seller's share is only released after you confirm receipt — or after the return window closes — so an approved return can be refunded in full before any money moves. Any order cancelled before it ships is refunded in full, too.

Photograph your piece, describe it honestly, and set your price. Listing costs nothing, and your piece appears in the Vault the moment you publish it.

Pay when it sells — 12% to Veil Vault
When your piece sells, Veil Vault takes 12% of the item price — nothing on shipping — and Stripe's payment-processing fee comes out of your payout (the actual amount is shown on every sale). If it doesn't sell, you pay nothing. If you've opted into Spotlight placement, that adds 5%, also only when the piece sells.

Keep the rest
Your 88% of the item price is yours, minus Stripe's payment-processing fee (deducted from your payout) — released once the buyer's return window closes, so the sale is set before the money moves. Any shipping you charged that the label didn't use comes along with it.
The Vault's standards
What we allow — and what we don't
The collection is a promise: pieces honestly described — and a team that removes anything that breaks that promise.
Authentic pre-loved formalwear
Pre-loved formalwear is the point of the Vault — wedding dresses, prom and pageant gowns, evening wear, suits, and accessories worn once and let go. Replicas, counterfeits, and borrowed stock photos don't belong here; when we find them we remove them.
Condition, told honestly
Every listing states its condition — new with tags, excellent, great, good, or fair — and describes the actual piece, including wear, stains, or alterations. What you see is what should arrive; if it isn't, raise it in the return window.
Listings go live — standards hold
Listings appear in the Vault the moment they're published. Veil Vault keeps the collection honest by removing listings that break our standards — dishonest condition, borrowed photos, replicas — and by acting on every report we receive.
The reporting system
Any listing can be reported at any time. Reports go straight to our team's review queue, and they're handled by a human — not an algorithm.
Protecting yourself
Small habits, safer shopping
A few simple steps keep every transaction in the Vault — and every transaction in the Vault is one we can protect.
Ask questions in messages
Message the seller about fit, fabric, or anything a photo can't show. Sellers know their pieces — most are happy to share extra photos or a video of it moving.
Request measurements
Listings include measurements, but ask for more if you need them. Compare them to a dress you own and love — that's the truest size chart.
Check the seller's profile
Read the seller's bio, their history, and their reviews from past sales. A seller with a story and a record is a seller worth trusting.
Trust your instinct
If a deal feels too good, a message feels pressured, or a seller pushes you to pay outside the Vault — stop. That's what our reporting system is for.
Reporting
See something off? Say something.
Every listing on Veil Vault can be reported — a wrong description, a suspicious message, a piece that doesn't feel right. Your report goes straight to our team's review queue, and a human reads every single one. We act on reports fast, and we never penalize the person who made them.
The report button lives with the listing. If you're not sure how to report something, message us through Help — we'll take it from there.
